Photosuite5

Hi! I have a Dell Inspiron E1705, and running Vista. Problem: I thought MGI PhotoSuite II was GREAT!!! That was in Win98SE. I have PhotoSuite5, MediaCreator7, 8, 9, and 10, but I still like MGI the best. The closest thing to it is PS5. When I try it, I get an error at startup saying that a driver is causing a conflict in the system and will be shut down. It implicates a driver needed to burn disks. I don't need that driver at all and PS5 runs well without it. I would like to isolate that particular driver, and remove or disable it. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance, Woodneye.

Woodneye,

Have you found a solution to this problem?

I have the same thing going on after I loaded the PhotoSuite5 software that came with a Bushnell binocular/digital camera, into a new computer that has VISTA installed.

I had a similar problem about a year ago. It was caused by loading a newer version of a driver (.dll) file that already existed. The files had the same name but different dates. In this case we don't know the file name. It would be nice if the file was identified in the error statement.

Please let me know if you hear of a fix for this problem and I will do the same.

I have the same Bushnell camera and the PhotoSuite software worked at first then I began to get the driver incompatibility errors. Have you found a solution to run in Vista? I tried to run the one update from the Roxio site but it too gave me an error when trying to install

MGI Photosuite on Vista, THE FINAL SOLUTION!!! First you need to get hold of an MGI disc or a download. I have been trying to get MGI Photosuite III SE to install on Vista for months without success and then when I thought I'd finally sorted it I could not launch the program due to a script error. You do not need Virtual PC, Virtual XP or any add-ons. Simply find and right click the the MGI setup file, check the run in compatibility mode as Windows XP SP2 and install. After install, send a program launch shortcut to your desktop, right click, go to properties and check the Windows XP compatibility mode once again. Finally, while you still have the compatibility screen open add a tick check to Run As Administrator. Hey presto my beloved MGI Photosuite is back! MGI is fantastic for being user friendly and simple, and although I know other users insist there are better programs, I’ve tried loads and I still think it’s a winner.
