Photosuite 10 Issue

barkerja05

Question

Okay, when I try to open multiple photos in PhotoSuite, it will only open about 10 to 12, and will come up with a box saying the following

Not Enough Memory

There is not enough memory to open C:\documents and settings\ (whatever folder I am trying to open pictures from). Try one of the follwing to free up memory:

-close programs you are not currently using

-Close any open photos or projects in photosuite you are not working on

-delete unnecessary files to free up hard drive space

The computer has LOTS of memory, and a second drive with lots of memory also. There is nothing else open, I even disabled the antivirus. I have run the clean install program.

You will have to forgive me, my husband knows more about computers than I do, but I know quite a bit, just not the correct terminology! Maybe this is not actually a problem, but when I had creator 8, it did not do this when I first had it, then started to give that message. It would also just stop working when editing or saving photos...no error message or anything and I would have to use ctrl+alt+del to close it. I thought creator 10 would solve my problems but that was not the case.

Do you know how much memory your computer has?

Now the following are simple questions and please don't be insulted, because sometimes it's the small things that cause problems.

Do you know how many programs are actually running on your computer?

Have you done the routine maintenance tasks of using Windows to Clean up and Defragment your hard drive. ( Editing programs hate fragmented files)

Are all the pictures from the same source? ( It could be the format of the picture.)

And last, but by no means least, does restarting your computer before you start editing affect whether you get the error message? Restarting your computer cleans out the RAM memory and solves many problems.

I think you are confusing memory and hard drive storage space - they are not the same thing!

To be fair, the message refers to both RAM memory ( close open programs )

AND hard drive space (delete unnecessary files ).

It's hard to know which one is causing the problem.
