When I Updated Windows My Roxio Files Were Deleted

I am a loyal and long time Roxio customer. From memory, I began with Version 3 of Easy CD Creator and DirectCD long ago. I have Version 5 Easy CD Creator and Version 5 DirectCD installed on my computer, which I got from the computer dealer who sold me my computer. It was already installed with all of my software. I used Belarc Advisor to see if what the license number or serial number was, but that did not appear in "Software Licenses". Your software description appeared in "Software Versions" of the Belarc Advisor. I upgraded my Windows operating system from XP with sp1 to XP with sp2 and both Easy CD Creator and DirectCD worked. From time to time Windows would upgrade itself, by itself. I back up all of my software on 700 MB to 800 MB CD disks formatted with DirectCD.

I love your products!

The last time I used your software to backup or store software was in November 2007. Just, today, February 2008, something went wrong with my computer and so I took out my storage disks and inserted them in my computer. My computer refused to read my disks. Then I looked for DirectCD and discovered that I did not have any such software!

Since I had not used it for such a long time, I did not realize that it was missing!

I tried to reinstall my Roxio from the 800 MB disk my dealer gave me, due to breakdowns of my computer and it wouldn't load! An error message came back saying that the software is incompatible with my computer. How could this be, since it worked, believe it or not on Windows XP purchased from the dealer. I suspect that with all of the automatic upgrades that Windows XP had made, it invalidated your Roxio software.

What can I do now that all of my saved software was on 800 MB disks created by Roxio DirectCD?

Am I sunk and is all of my software is now useless?

I am poor and don't really have any money to purchase new software of any kind, what can or should I do?
