Mac/pc "custom Hybrid" Creation

David Stirling

In v6 of Toast I know how to make a "custom hybrid" CD-ROM that will work on both Mac and PC. The PC side uses an autostart.inf file and icon.ico file. On the Mac side, I can set the window to open to a partcular size with a "Start Here" alias icon and a custom picture background.

When I tried to do that in v7 I could not get it to "keep" the picture background on the Mac partition of the CD-ROM. I liked that I could tell the CD-ROM to automatically open the window, but it always rearranged the icons and had a plain white background. After several attempts, I finally gave up and burned my CD-ROM on my older system in v6.

Could someone point me in the right direction to figure out how to do this in either v7 or if I should upgrade to v8? I don't know a lot about what's going on behind the scenes--all I know is I HAD a clunky-but-successful way to get a working dual-format CD-ROM for duplication.
