Lock Audio Track To Video Clip And Typewriter Effect

shollis44

Question

Hi. Recently found VideoWave Pro 7 and so far I am loving it. I do have two questions and I don't know if VW7 can do this and I'm just not finding the option, or if I need to do things a different way.

1) I like to do my titles and such last. This causes the video clips to shift. Then I have to realign my audio tracks. IS there a way to lock the start of an audio track to a particular spot in a video clip? The audio often spans several clips, so I don't want to chop it up and insert it into each clip. Any suggestions?

2) On the text menu, I thought the typewriter might insert each letter individually like a typewriter, but it doesn't. Am I missing some toggle?

Thanks for your help.

Steve,

Question 1 - When audio, text, narration, etc. are placed on the external track, there is no feature in Videowave to "lock" it to a clip or picture. When you make additions or deletions to the video track, you have to manually readjust the audio or whatever is on the external tracks. Your only alterantive would be to output the entire project without the audio to a mpeg2 or DV AVI, bring that new file into a new project, and then add the audio to the internal track. Then you can make changes to the video track and the audio, since it is on the internal track, will remain in place.

Question 2 - No you are not missing anything. The "typewriter" text effect is not intended to type each letter on the screen. Only the font is suppose to look like typewriter letters. What you are looking for is not available in Videowave as far as I know.

Hope this helps

About the only thing you could do would be to make a note of the time when the music starts with the video. Add the time (ie. 5 seconds) that you've made titles to the beginning.

Then in the timeline view, you should be able to highlight the sound and MOVE it to the new correct time. You might have to use the shift/ctrl key to select all the sound tracks. (I can never remember which key to use.)

By expanding the view of the timeline tracks, you should be able to get the time into small enough increments to move it precisely.

It's a pain, but that's the only way I know how to move it.
