I've encountered a strange problem with Toast 7 that extended into Toast 8, making it essentially useless for burning audio. What happens is that all audio files have serious distortion, a very strong fuzziness to them. The preview has this distortion. At first, I thought it was just a problem with the preview, and when I burned the disc, the files contained the distortion on the actual disc. When I used other ways to burn the disc, such as iTunes, or if I use a different computer to burn the same files in Toast, they come out fine. Obviously something strange is taking place in the configuration itself, but I can't determine the cause. I'm using a Mac G5 with dual processor, with 4GB of RAM and 2 Terrabytes of storage. I have two CD/DVD burners and the problem affects both of them. Toast worked fine until a few months ago. I upgraded to Toast 8 thinking it would solve the problem but it didn't. I deleted the applications and all files associated with them, including preferences and installed again, but it didn't fix the problem. I'm out of ideas. Suggestions?
