Encoding Quality!

cap2587

Question

I just finish reading a very interesting forum discussion on Disc Copier - Unable To “fit-to-disc”, How to use Disc Copier to compress ISO. I have two questions: Should I be striving to get my ISO file encoded on the HQ setting, even if that means using the 8.5 GB size in the drop down. I know that will mean compression when it gets burnt to the DVD. Do I lose quality this way or should I except the fit to disk option on the 4.7GB size. Which Option will mean the quality will be comprimized the least. Thanks.

Yes.

Yes.

A 4.7gb DVD holds about 1 hour of DVD Movie at Best Quality.

For every minute past that you sacrifice video quality for disc space…

Disc Copier seems to use a better algorithm than MyDVD, so that is why the 2 step process is suggested.

Only you can decide if the loss of quality is worth it to you or even noticable…
