Can't Burn Disc

SirEagle

Question

When I try to burn a disc in my CD burner it will go through the motions then eject after the burn with the following error,

Sense: 03 ASC: 0C ASCQ: 00 (Command 2A)

-------------------------------------------------------

Px.dll: 4.0.45.500

PxAFS.DLL: 3.6.36.500

pxdrv.dll: 1.2.12.3

PxMas.dll: 4.0.45.500

PxSFS.DLL: 4.0.45.500

PxWave.dll: 4.0.45.500

pxwma.dll: 1.0.0.3

This happens if I try any burn option or type. Also drag to disc doesn't work correctly. If I use my DVD burner it burns fine. I deleted a MS Hot Fix (KB929399) as I read about in another post. Burnt one CD fine, then got the error on the next one. I can see the disc has something burnt on it, it's like it won't finalize.

I haven't tried any other software but it seems like it started messing up when I upgraded from 6.0 to Easy CD DVD Burning. I'm not sure it's the drive or the software. I'm leaning towards software. Running XP SP2.

Any Ideas?

Sense key errors are most commonly caused by:

Out of dated firmware

Incompatible media (the recorder does not like the particular brand, or that piece of media)

A buffer underrun (the recorder was trying to burn the disc faster than the computer could send data to it)

Recorder failure (the recorder may be broken or about to break)

Try using XP burn a CD?

Use an RW. Put a blank disc in the Burner, use Explorer to Copy some files and Paste them to the Burner.

There will be a prompt about files waiting to be burned. Proceed with the burn wizard and burn the files to the disc.

This test will help isolate the issue to software or burner.
