How2 Record Intenet Radio

J.Manzer

Question

I bought V10, but can't figure out how to use the audio feed from internet radio to grab the audio contents directly from the streaming feed (internet radio).

Because my speekers and microphone on my PC are cheep the sound is really bad so I dont want to continue to recording this way.

Can anyone help me get set up to record internet radio directly without speekers and microphones?

Thanks so very much for this great information. I did not know when I upgraded my software from Creator 8 to Creator 10, it would change my input back to microphone.

This is why I heard sounds through the speakers, but could not capture sounds from the internet.

Great stuff!

Have you tried the options, Line In and Stereo Mix?
With Easy CD Creator 5, Stereo Mix was the option that I was able to use to get streaming audio saved in soundstream.

I used Line In when attaching a Y-cable from my stereo to the sound board to capture actual radio broadcasts or tapes or LPs from my stereo.

You post is confusing and you did not answer the question. What have you tried NOW; not with the provious versions.

Sknis,

That reply was not from the OP (Manzer) but from someone else, possibly intended as another suggestion for Manzer to try.

Yes, I was just demonstrating how I was able to use the options suggested by grandpabruce. StereoMix for internet streaming and Line In for an actual line in (containing an outside sound source) to the sound card.

Please post your computer and audio card information, What kind is it? OR is it an audio chip that came on the computer? There may be ways of doing this and we can provide help if you can give us the information about your card/chip.

Basically you will use Easy Audio Capture. In the drop-down window as shown, chose one that will give you the volume meters bouncing up and down. As shown, I have a audio card that allows me to capture using the "What you hear" setting. Also you may be able to capture but perhaps not hear what you are capturing.

If you do not have a dedicated sound card, and you have a slot open on your computer, you can add a reasonable sound card for around $30 US (example link). If your computer is a laptop, you can't add the card.

I think I probably have a sound card on the motherboard. And probably not one that allows me to record "The Sound I Hear".

I have : XP Home V2002 Pack2 HP Compaq Presario AMD Sempron 3400+ 1.99 GHx, 704 MB of RAM Realtek AC'97 Audio.

The options I see are: Phone Line, Microphone, Line I, CD/Video In, Aux?Line In 2, Stereo Mix, Mono Mix.
