Creating Custom My Dvd Menus

giggsy

Question

Hi, I'm quite new to this kind of product and was wondering if it's possible to create the kind of DVD menu I'm looking for. What I'd like to create is: A custom background image that fades in, with a circular window in the center with a graphic inside. Custom buttons to be arranged around this circular window, to fade in sequentially. When a button is highlighted I would like the graphic in the circular window to fade into a preview of the appropriate chapter, acompanied by a custom audio track for each action ie. highlight and select(play). Is this possible with this suite?.. so far I've managed to create a short intro movie and a custom background, but I cant get it to fade in. Thanks.

No, I don't think so. The problem would be having a preview in the circle showing the button you have selected at the time. We also can not create custom buttons. However, you can select from any of the premade buttons from any of the styles.

Can you suggest a software package that would let me create my own DVD menus from scratch, with the features I mentioned?.. would DVDLab Pro or Sony's Vegas be more appropriate? Thanks.

I would suggest that you post the question on their forums since they would have the answer. I agree with ggrussel about not having the ability to do that in My DVD.

Try also asking that same question on the DVDit section lower on this forum.

I think you'll find that you may be able to find something like it but you probably won't like the cost of a "professional" rather than a consumer program.

DVD Lab Pro= $245; Vegas = $525, DVDit= $300; EMC 10 = $60-100. $ 150 to $400 more for a program that might give you what you want seems like a lot of money for one menu (if they will do it).
