Streamer Was Working Now Doesn't

Question

I had Streamer running ok last night and early today, I applied the Safari 3.1 update and the new security update and now when I press to Start Streaming I just get the Beach Ball and have to Force Quit. Restarted and deleted streamer Pref file and still won't start. The only other thing I did since was turned off airport and connected directly to cable modem with ethernet, firewall set to allow all connections. Roxio is something down on your end causing this? Maybe streamer.roxio.com down or something? I had it working fine last night, I had a friend I was chatting with and was going to start the streamer and have him connect to it in a browser but it won't start. Ran fine earlier today, was showing people at work on my ipod touch.

Running 10.5.2 all updates, MacMini 1.83 Core 2 Dou, 2GB RAM, 320GB HD yada yada yada

Last night i encountered a bit of trouble with streamer.roxio.com..

Are things better this evening?

I still can't Start the streamer, the application comes up but when I hit Start I just get the Beach Ball and have to Force Quit a few times to get out.

I have the firewall set to allow all apps

I think it's either the Safari 3.1 or the Security Updates yesterday did something. I have a brand new 320GB HD I put in a week ago with a fresh install of 10.5.2 so I know my system is ok. 2 nights ago after I got Toast 9 I had this running ok, I added a real short video and it imported it, set to Low, hit the Start and got it up on my iPod Touch, then I had it working yesterday in the morning, I was able to get to it on the ipod from work and was showing some people. That afternoon I updated the Safari and Security updates and I think that did it. Has anyone out there updated the Safari and Security updates and has it running ok? I'll keep trying and update if I get anywhere...

Did you change any settings in your router? Things like:

* Disable UPNP

* Forward the port by hand

What type of router do you have?

Sonic, I'm not on a router, I am connected with ethernet directly to the cable modem. I was connected to an Airport Express the night I first got it wirelessly, and the Airport Express was connected to the cable modem. On tuesday I moved my computer to another room so I could connect the Mac directly to the cable modem and not use Wifi, there is a cable outlet where I moved it to, I wanted to get rid of wireless. Ironically though, on Monday when I bought Toast 9 I was still connected to the Airport Express and Streamer worked fine. I have OS X set to Allow all Connections in the Firewall settings (it's all open), but I have tried with "Streamer" set as one of the apps allowed access. I have the Auto open port NAT in Streamer's Prefences On like default. None of this makes a difference

I have since deleted all Roxio prefs in Library\Preferences that I can find, I have deleted the Streamer App and copied over a fresh copy and still can't get it to Start. Are there any weird prefs that would not be obvious that need to be deleted as well?

I have also ran Disk Utility and Repaired Permissions. I also Deleted the Streamer Videos folder in Documents. No luck.

The app will launch ok and I can Add Videos OK, I can Preview Videos Ok, but if I hit Start nothing happens and then I get the beach ball and have to Force Quit. I still think Safari 3.1 is the culprit.

What brand cable modem is it? I think it has more to do with the cable modem that Safari 3.1. I am fully updated and there are no issues.

It's a scientific atlanta, but when I when I had the wifi with the airport express hooked up it worked so I don't think the modem is the issue, it's passive

On Monday and Tuesday before I got Safari 3.1 when Streamer was working this was the hookup

Mac Mini >>>Airport Express>>>Cable Modem, Steamer worked fine

Now I have it setup this way

Mac Mini>>>cable modem the Airport Express is not being used at the moment

Before 10.5.2 I was having Airport issues, the .2 update has made it better but I wanted to hook up directly to cable modem, I get faster speeds to. Also now being connected to cable outlet I can hook Eyetv up to cable

I have seen Safari 3.1 is having issues with secure sites on Mac, I can't log in to any forums or my bank with it, so I'm using another browser just to type this.
