Sound Editor Clip To Mydvd9 Dvd?

dino520

Question

In case I ever get my MyDVD9 DVD project working again (VideoWave9 crashes everytime now)..

I created a clip in Sound Editor that I would like to use as my menu background audio. It`s 3 short MP3 clips joined together totalling 242 seconds. Can it be done? How?

Why do I ask? Because when I saved the project in Sound Editor I got a popup stating:

Some of the changes made to this audio file will not be preserved in MP3 format.

If you want to preserve these changes click "Save Project".

If you want to just save the audio file using its native format settings click "Save File".

I don`t know what that all means, but I did both just in case.

Now, I know that MyDVD9 projects can only utilize MP3 files...and the "saved project" file type is a .dmse file.

The "saved file"...I don`t know what it is, or where it went...or where it is.

Can someone help me figure this out? Thanks...

In Sound Editor, you have to Export to an audio type and folder. You can then use that new music file in VideoWave.

Using the save function does not save as an audio file.

Video Wave and My DVD prefer wav files. Most MP3s also work OK but some seem to have a problem. For best results export to wav.

When you add a mp3 files it is converted to a wav file and is stored in the proxy directory. I don't know where the OP got the idea that myDVD 9 only utilize mp3 files since that is totally incorrect.

Thanks gramps..that worked.....so far. Now if I can get MyDVD9 to work maybe I can replace my original menu audio with this one. would you guys mind taking another look at that thread to see if you have any more ideas? VideoWave9 is still crashing everytime I attempt to edit my project.

And as far as replacing the menu audio goes..it worked I think. But the preview audio/video only runs for about 30 seconds. Do I assume it`s all there and try to burn? Remember the first menu audio was 212 seconds(using the fit to video button) and the new menu audio is also 212 seconds as edited in Sound Editor. I don`t have to go through the whole "fit to video" process again do I?

If you replaced the background audio file, you do.

I`ll check it out Bruce..I think I finished my first DVD project yesterday. I burned about 10 copies of the Nam DVD. I was really surprised it didn`t crash when I went to the DVD menu button to change the menu audio as it had been crashing over and over every time I even looked at the DVD Menu button. I don`t think that problem is resolved though. I burned the DVDs one after the other..man I was on a roll. And when I closed the MyDVD9 program...VideoWave9 crashed...again.

I still have another project to do for my daughter..some of the family photos with captions and audio background. I have a feeling I`ll be needing some more assistance soon. First though..I need a little R&R from VideoWave9!!!
