SS Scott
I think you are reading that wrong. I think that note is related to the "mosquito noise reduction" not being supported for BDMV on BD-R

I think that note is related to the "mosquito noise reduction" not being supported for BDMV on BD-R I have the PS3 update from March 13,2008 (Version 2.17) and all my BDMV discs work (including one made with Cyberlink Power Producer 5 - as a test - all the rest are made with DVDit Pro HD)

rexdigital
What is "mosquito noise reduction" anyway? A way to smooth out compression artifacts. Usually makes the picture softer too. "-- PS3 system's Internet browser will be enhanced: Video files directly linked from a Web page will be able to be streamed, and the browser's view speed will be improved." I sure as hell hope that means Flash 9 videos and Quicktime movies will work.

Thanks for clueing me in - didn't think Sony would release the new 2.2 this soon - last update was only two weeks ago - I just installed it and the DVDitPro HD blu-ray discs play fine - seems to be less of a delay in booting up as well as going from main menu to submenu. I always hold my breath when the newest PS3 updates come out figuring "this will be the one" that makes our BD-R(E) discs unplayable on the system.
