Ecm8 Problems

drdickson

Question

I am a long-time Roxio user. I downloaded the EMC8 upgrade and then installed it. As soon as I did so, my computer then rebooted every time I inserted a blank CD or DVD into one of my burners (internal, or external). Has anyone else had this problem? Is this only a problem with downloaded ECM8? My system never had this problem with ECM7 or ECM6.

Is there any other software installed that accesses those drives like Nero InCD, Sonic DLA or Alcohol 120%? Seems like the drives may in use already. Do you have the latest firmware?

I don't have any great ideas what might be wrong, yet, but what happens if you:

a ) start EMC 8 before inserting a blank disc?

b ) hold the shift key when inserting a blank disc?

c ) disable auto-run for your CD/DVD writer?

Let us know
