How Do I Output To Dvd?

I am new at all this editing so be kind to me. I just edited a movie i captured in Videomaker. The rendering process is burning it to a "Image file" I believe is the proper term. How do i burn this to a DVD? The lasst time i tried this all i got was a DVD with a bunch of files on it. I want to give teh DVD to a friend , have them put it in thier DVD player or PC and have it work.

 

I am rendering the video at MPEG-2 for DVD, best quality. IS this correct?

So far so good... You now run MyDVD to create the DVD menus and add your MPEG 2 which will create a button to play the movie. If you are going to burn to 4.7 blank disc and the file is not longer than one hour, MyDVD will not re-render and keep the file's quality. If it IS longer than one hour, MyDVD will re-render the file to make it fit.

 

If you have dual layer blanks discs, you can get about 1hr 58mins at best quality.
