dansbois
I have been trying all day to burn to either my hard drive or my dvd writer. Dvd burner starts the "encoding" then I get the message from windows "Roxio has encountered a problem and must close". Then dvd burner closes. I have tried disabling startup and system tray items, tried encolding the default dvd builder project, reparing roxio, reinstalling roxio, reinstalling the burner driver, updated to v6.2.0.134... I have downloaded the firmware version for my dvd recorder... but one warning really has me worried... "connect the drive to the secondary IDE channel as a master drive with no other devices connected to that channel. Warning: If you have two optical drives on the same channel it may try to update both of them and erase or damage the firmware in each one" How do I connect the drive to the secondary IDE channel as a master drive with no other devices connected to that channel? I'm stuck and need help. thank you, dansbois p.s. on top of all this I am not even sure that updating the firmware on my drive would make a difference as I am not able to write to the hard drive either.... What most of us do in Builder is to burn to 'File' and not the disc. After that use Builder to burn the file, projectname.ISO, to disc. Use some RW media until you get this straighten out.
