Unable To Copy Mac/pc Hybrid 4.7 Gb Dvd

As previously mentioned in the Toast 803 topic:

I am unable to copy a DVD-RW, now using Toast 902. I have a standard MacBook 2.2 GHz Core Duo with the internal drive listed as: HL-DT-ST DVDRW GSA-S10N (The original DVD drive failed; I had it replaced with the same model).

OS 10.5.2

Plenty of drive space.

4 GB memory.

As previously mentioned, Toast's "Disc Info..." menu item lists the correct attributes of the inserted DVD, however, an attempt to copy it results in the dialog to the effect that there is nothing to copy. However, a DVD+R *is* recognized, and is available for copying. Could this be a question of partial incompatibilities with certain types of media? Should I test by *completely* erasing a DVD-RW disc and try again?

I have to configure service DVDs frequently, and then may have to run off a few copies; it's time-consuming to have to recreate them every time. For the time being I will use DVD+R discs only.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

The inability to recognize the DVD-RW discs in the Copy window is a bug in Toast 8 and 9. To copy the contents you need to select the appropriate format in the Toast Data window and add the disc's content there. If you have only one optical drive you can choose Save as Disc Image. When that is done eject the DVD-RW and choose the Image File setting in the Copy window to burn your "copied" DVD.
