Can't Get Toast 8 Cd .avi Files To Play On Pc

jnalexclt

Question

Using a Mac w/Final Cut Express I created short Quicktime Movie files which I converted to .avi with Visual Hub. I have quite a few folders with these .avi files in them and used Toast 8 to create data DVD and CD---neither would play images when inserted into PC. WIndows Media showed the files, but when it tried to open them, it showed various colored animated graphics as though it was playing music....none of the .avi images could be seen. What am I doing wrong?

I don't know so I'm just guessing. If the PC mounts the disc and the files can be seen and opened, it is unlikely that anything was done wrong in Toast. These are burned as data files so Toast did nothing to the files themselves. You might instead drop the files in the Toast Video window using the DivX disc setting and see how that goes.

Is it possible that the PC's Windows Media Player needs to be updated with newer codecs?
