Blue Ray Audio Sync Problems

I have just finished burning a Bluray disk using Toast 9.02 from an original .mkv file.

It was originally encoded avc1 1280x720 25 fps

Audio was a52 codec at 48 KHz

Duration 1:02:18

This original played in VLC with no audio sync issues

I dragged the file into Toast 9.02 set for Blu-ray Video with all settings at automatic or default.

It was burnt to a single layer 25 GB Sony RW Bluray disk.

Encode time was over 3 days on a 2.1 GHz G5 with 1.5 GB ram OSX 10.5.2

Burn Time using a LaCie BD drive was almost 4 hours

There were 3 errors displayed rapidly at the end of the burn process which seemed to relate to driver or OS issues.

The finished disk auto-plays in a Sony BDP S500 player and picture quality and sound are fine if examined separately.

The sound unfortunately lags the audio by more than 2 seconds.

This also seems a long time to encode an unremarkable file.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve the audio sync problem?
