Accessing Features Of Emc10

oldsparky

Question

After several tries to install, (Kept getting rollback), am now able to do some work. Able to access VideoWave, Create Slideshow, and CompileMovies, from Frequent Tasks selection. Label Creator, Creator Classic, and CineMagic report inability to proceed, and must close due to error. I can access in a roundabout way through VideoWave/Send To MyDVD/Create labels, but limited functions. I get same rejections from the Home Listings/Icon selection panel. Tried to install Update EMC10.1 from Download, hoping for some possible tweaks/fixes,but upon trying to Run Application, I receive a message that it must be run from the ATI DVD Setup Wizard. What's up with this?? Talk about a simple program being so-o-o- frustrating!!. Before you make suggestion about Clean Install, that is how I finally got this installed in the first place, through a previous inquiry direct to Support. A N Y Info would be greatly appreciated. Many small family projects, both photo and video, to get going on. Thanks in advance.

...Tried to install Update EMC10.1 from Download....

You did not list what operating system you were using but the update is needed only if you are using XP. All the update does is avoid a potential problem of NTLDR being deleted during the install process. According to http://www.roxio.com/enu/support/emc10/software_updates.html that is all it does, nothing else. So if you are running Vista, you do not need that since NTLDR is not applicable. If you running XP and you have rebooted since installing EMC 10, then the update serves no purpose.

If you are using XP and decide to do the clean install James recommended, which is a very good suggestion, then it would be a good ideal to install the update. However, please note the procedure in http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?showtopic=29861 - you need to do the update before you do the reboot required during the installation process.

Did all as requested with additional delete/purge of some old MGI files, (just to be on the safe side, as this was taken over by Roxio), and seems to be operating o.k.:rolleyes: I'll find out for sure over next couple of days!?!?! Thanks for all assistance up to this point. Let's keep fingers and G__-knows-what-else crossed!!!

I would follow the Clean Install procedures - Here

Went to "Here" and tried to print pages for proper follow of procedures and ended up with banner and footnotes on 'print preview' only. Cannot seem to be able to print article for sequence procedure. Where/how else can I get details for following correctly for 'Clean Uninstall/Reinstall'???

Thanks

I just tried it and got the same as you got, the header and footer and no body text. I am almost certain I have printed it out in the past.

However, while not pretty you can still print out the text:

1) Open up the link again

2) Somewhere in the body of the article, right click and select "Select All" option

3) That should highlight the body's text, right click again and this time select "Copy"

4) Open Notepad, Word, etc., and "Paste" the body's text into the page

5) You should be able to print this out.
