For those who are not aware, the JVC camcorders do NOT properly set the widescreen flag in their files. Just changing the extension to MPG will not work for those files if you Use the JVC to shoot in widescreen mode.
I have found a small utility that will solve that problem called SDCopy. It is a very easy app. No install. Just unzip to a folder and run the .exe. It will copy the files from your JVC camcorder, rename file and the extension , and an option to set the WS flag if you have used the widescreen shooting mode. You can have it transfer all files or select just a few.
I tried it on a few files that I shot with my nephew's JVC and it works great.
