Pioneer Dvr-a05u - No Supported Dvd-recorders Were Detected On Your System

A recent update from Microsoft, as best I can tell, has caused my OEM software to stop working. I have downloaded and installed the following updates from your download page and still no joy.

ecdc_v5.3.5.10_basic_enu.exe

driveup5.3.5v.exe

Windows can see the drive just fine. This is the output from a DeviceInfo.exe utility I downloaded from Pioneer's support site.

What do I need to do to restore this software to working order?

Thanks in advance

Brad

Try uninstalling ECDC 5 via add/remove, run roxizap (URL is in FREQUENT ANSWERS, highlighted at the top of the postins), install ECDC 5 (don't reboot), install the updates (don't reboot), install the Drive-up patch (reboot).

Bear in mind that officially, due to numerous changes in WinXP caused by SP2, ECDC 5 is no longer supported, it's just that some people have managed to restore it if re-installed AFTER SP2.

Also bear in mind that a number of recent burning applications - including but not limited to WinPlayer 9 and 10, RealAudio 9 or above, MusicMatch, and iTunes - can break this 1999 program, and if that is the cause, you will have to decide which application you want - unless it was WinPlayer 9, which will not come completely back out short of reformatting the Hard Drive and starting over.

If what Lynn has advised doesn,t work here is some further info:

An OEM is usually a version that a large computer manufacturer buys and installs to sell preinstalled on their computer (sometimes they may add features that are only available in the full retail Platinum eddition) The computer buyer gets a copy of the preinstalled software in case they have to reinstall it on their computer. For example, if the files get corrupt or the hard drive has to be reformatted, that computer user needs a copy of the software to reinstall the software that came with the computer. OEM means Original Equipment Manufacturer.

Some OEM, versions come with CD burners.

These "Basic" versions vary and are customized to fit the contract of the OEM purchaser.

Likewise, ALL support comes from your OEM provider and not from Roxio. Contact your OEM provider and see what they have to say

Well, it isn't that the OEM version supports one of those drives while the others don't.

Brad doesn't say which drive he's having problems with, but the LTR-16102C has been supported since ECDC version 4.03a, and the DVR-105 since 5.3.1.154

As long as your ECDC is 5.3.1 or better you don't need to go all the way up to 5.3.5, and the DriveUp add-on is quite pointless.

Brad, I can't advise further as "caused my OEM software to stop working" is pretty nebulous. You haven't even said which software has stopped, let alone what is happening.

Have a read of Lynn's "Frequent answers" and you'll see the sort of information we need if we're to help you.

Thanks Lynn,

I wouldn't think I would have to go this far, but it's worth a last ditch effort...

I'm really not a ditz, but I can't find "FREQUENT ANSWERS". Any chance you could just post the URL?

Thanks
