Fcp Chapter Markers

freecam

Question

Hi there,

Despite trying everything Toast 9 seems to ignore the chapter markers I produce in Final Cut Pro. It's annoying because any program I wish to produce is limited to the intervals available in Toast. It's useless to have chapter points every minute or 5 minutes. They need to be where they're actually needed. This is yet another example of why Toast 9 is definitely not for the pros. I'm anxious to say hello to DVD Studio Pro 5 and goodbye to Toast 9 asap. Roxio engineers why do you waste peoples' time with these cheesy programs or at least give those of us with money a pro version of the software. I'd easily pay $300 or more for software that does what I want it to do because my time is worth a lot more than that. Come on people get to work and make us a burning program with some "teeth".

The one problem with DVD Studio Pro is it doesn't output to blu-ray format unless you have a secret ;-)

I don't think Toast 9 is intended for pros for DVD authoring and your expectation is probably too high.

Toast has loads of features I personally would never use, but the ability to recognise and use embedded chapter markers in QuickTime files would be a very useful function. I am not a pro user but would dearly love my own movie to have the chapter markers I created for it. I don't see this as a 'pro' feature particularly. And until Apple's DVDSP, iDVD and the rest actually support Blu-Ray properly, Toast is the only game in town. Hence I think we are entitled to feel frustrated by this shortcoming.

I think Toast works with chapter markers from iMovie. (correct me if I'm wrong) Hence, you will have the choice to have the chapter markers in the video file you create.

FCP is a different story.
