Extracting Images From Dvd's

labmom

Question

Any tips for extracting quality images from DVD's? I have been extracting images from a VideoWave production - which leave alot to be desired in quality. I want to print them. Is there another way I can extract them directly from a DVD that will give me a sharper image?

I've not tried it with a dvd but VLC Media Player will let you take a snapshot of any part of the playing video. You might give that a try.

The best image you will ever get off a DVD is 720 X 480. That is what DVD's are made at, so it can't be any better.

Media Manger should give better results than VW in most cases. MM will always return the resolution of the DVD whereas VW tends to vary depending on how big you are running the window.
