Crash With Video Copy & Convert

bikerscott

Question

I unwrapped my brand new copy of easy media 10 and dove in to convert some of my tivo files to other formats so I can use them in my home. So far every time I try to use the video copy & convert app, it crashes. I am attempting to convert a tivo file to a WMV9 file. (also tried to get to a MPEG file, or a WMV HD file, same result, crash of the copy and convert app, every single time.) I've also tried different tivo files.

I've installed the latest update from the roxio page for easy media 10, no improvement.

I found the log file creation option (log below)

If I open the same tivo source file with CineMagic app, it correctly opens it and starts writing out the file. This leads me to believe that ,

1. the source tivo file is just fine.

2. the CineMagic app is using unique code relative to the copy and convert app to do the transcode.

I bought creator 10 specifically to do this type of conversion and I'm pretty frustrated that it doesn't work at all.

PC is a Dell Pentium D (3 Ghz)

2 gig ram

xpsp2, latest patches

Lots of HD space (80 gig on the main drive)

Sincerely,

bikerscott
