C++ Runtime Error.

cobminor

Question

I have a new Dell XPS 1530 and am getting an error with the Roxio program, east media creator 9. The error message points to the program RoxWatch.exe as the culprit. I have had a poke at it and dissabled a few things on startup etc. I have also had a brief look at this forum for a solution but can find nothing that helps, although it does seem as if errors are common. The OS is Vista home, the PC has 155Gig left on the HD, the memory is 3 Gig, so no problems there.

I am starting to think that the only solution is to take all roxio stuff of the machine and do without it but thought I would try these forums first. The Dell forum solved nothing. Thanks for your time.

Thank you both, I am impressed with the speed of the replies.

Larry,

Only the first two of your five listed are showing in 'services' Would it be an idea to remove and re-install the program rather than messing around any more? Thanks.

OK,

I have done a re-install as per the instructions and now have a bigger bundle of trouble.

Firstly I got a message during the install that program, or file, (I have forgotten) Creator BDAV plugin is not supported and the install went on without it.

Secondly, now that I have re-booted I have a message "this version of windows does not support Roxio DLA. This product has been stopped from running.

Because this program shares files with Roxio drag to disc that has also been stopped.

Windows cannot find a solution on line, apart from pointing me to the Roxio website.

I am wondering why Dell use programs on their PCs that are not suitable for the OS's they load.

PS, I also had a message about Sonic solutions DLA not being supported.

Try this for the DLA problem. It is pinned, right above your thread.

I have done the patch and it now seems to boot without problems, I have opened some of the windows and had no errors (I was getting the original without opening any). Hopefully all is well now. Thank you for your help.

I was toying with the idea of loading Nero instead.
