Emc 10 And My Experiences

Joexxx

Question

I purchased EMC 10 as a download. After installation, DVD Express would not run and Convert Cassettes/LPs would not respond after capturing the cassette. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but no change. I then read one of your forums about a clean install. I followed the instructions to the letter and not only would EMC 10 not run but I also experienced problems with windows (XP).

I resorted to a system restore and found EMC 10 would not run because the license could not be found. I then uninstalled and reinstalled EMC 10 but with have the following problems;

1. png files cannot be found.

2. Convert Tapes/LPs does not respond after a capture.

3. DVD Express would not run (I found the solution to this in an earlier enquiry).

I am plodding along with a defective program and am considering reverting back to EMC 9 or changing to Nero.

Comments anyone?

Without knowing more about your computer, there's not much we can offer. Foremost important is your video card. Is it DirectX 9 compliant or just 'compatible'. There is a huge difference. Have you done all updates including SP3? Have you updated your video card driver? Have you updated DirectX which is NOT included in Windows Updates?

I was able to resolve missing png files; look here, probably best to read from the last post up.

W/ respect to download purchase, I'd definitely recommend getting the disk as a back up. Was this a recent purchase? Perhaps customer service will let you buy it for the price available at the time you downloaded it. I will say that when EMC 10 is up and running (... and lots of people get to that point), its a great program w/ lots of hidden bonuses. agreement5.gif

Thanks for the quick response to my experience. I was not aware of SP3 until you mentioned it. I am now investigating this and your other suggestions. I will report back when I know more.

Thanks for the tip. I am looking into your suggestion and those of another member. I have been using Roxio products for a long time and I hope I can resolve these problems.
