I have a Panasonic HDC-SX5 camera, which records in the AVCHD format on either 8cm DVDs and memory cards. I've been very pleased that iMovie 08 will recognize the camera and allow me to directly bring the footage in for editing. However, it seems to take forever to import the material – virtually real-time in fact.
My questions: I understand that Toast 9 will also import the files from my camera; will it be any QUICKER at this than iMovie? And, if I then wanted to edit in iMovie (rather than burn the footage straight out to a DVD) would going via Toast be a quicker way of getting it into iMovie?
