"When I booted up this morning the computer crashed and I got the blue screen. When i rebooted I was directed to Microsoft and got the following as cause of the crash. I'm using Roxio Record Now Plus.

"Problem caused by Sonic Solutions CD/DVD Recording Software Component (DRVMCDB.SYS)

This problem was caused by Sonic Solutions CD/DVD Recording Software Component (DRVMCDB.SYS). Sonic Solutions CD/DVD Recording Software Component (DRVMCDB.SYS) was created by Sonic Solutions."

I am assuming this happened because I did not delete Sonic update. I read a thread concerning the blue screen problem, KevinJ posted the following,

"If you want this problem to go away and don't care about having DLA installed, simply uninstalling DLA will fix the issue. DLA is a stand alone product that does not affect any other software. If you don't use it, there is no need for having it installed."

I went ahead and deleted the DLA in add/remove programs. My computer started and I did not get the blue screen. Do I need to complete delete Sonic update? so I can use Creator 10 the software I purchased correctly?

I am using Windows XP. What other computer specs do I need to post?

I don't know what Sonic update manager 2.9 or Roxio update manager 6.0.0.0 is! You haven't told us what Sonic / Roxio software you have besides Roxio EMC 10, correct? I would use Walt's suggestion in post #2. Only thing I would add is uninstall anything Sonic / Roxio in add remove programs, use the 'Clean Installation Of Easy Media Creator On Windows Xp' then reinstall the software, just Roxio EMC 10.
