Question

When I boot up computer it asks for update manager disk which I don't have. I only have the program disk that came with my Dell computer.

How do I get this installer to stop coming up on boot up? I downloaded EMC9.1 but it will not install on Win XP. What gives? Do I have to uninstall it and use Nero or what? Please help.

Hello,

The 9.1 update is only for the full retail version, so it won't help you.

If Windows Installer keeps asking for a disc, then it looks as it Windows Installer has got itself tangled again.

This happens a lot, so Microsoft have made a Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility which you can download here.

Since you have the program disc, I'd suggest you read the Microsoft page very carefully and then apply the utility to remove any tangled references in the MS Installer to Sonic or Roxio, and then reinstall the program from your disc.
