Need Help Burning Movies

desertratr

Question

1) Can I use Roxio to burn the files that are normally burned to the DVD for playing in a regular DVD player (i.e. vob, ifo, bup files, etc) to my HD instead of directly to a DVD?

2) How do I get Roxio to burn the DVD files (vob, ifo, bub files etc) to a DVD using the Drag to Disc utility? I dragged an mpg file and it burned it as an mpg file.

Yes you can capture the DVD to your hard drive unless it is protected.

Do not use drag to disc to burn a DVD. You would use either video wave or MyDVD to burn the file to the disc. The rpogram creates all the files.

Spending some time with the hep files would be in order.

Hello,

I assumed that you have Roxio EMC 8 suite installed. Please follow the steps as below:

1-Start Roxio EMC 8.

2-Click “DVD & Video”.

3-Click “ Edit Video” --> Select “Create a new production and choose the format you prefer (normal 4:3 or widescreen16:9) then click “OK” --> New window (VideoWave 8) will open.

4-Click “Add Photo/Video” to navigate to your video file (MPEG-2), double click on your file to import it onto the “Storyline/Timeline”, repeat this step if you want to add one or more MPEG-2 file to your movie.

5-Click “Add Transition /or Text Effect” to add to your movie if you want to… when you are done with all of that, go to next step.

6-Click “DVD” button (above the left top corner of the preview widow) --> click “OK” to save your production, give your production a name then click “Save”. Wait for few seconds then the new window (MyDVD Express) will open.

7-If you want your movie created without Menu, click” Disc Format / Arrow”, then choose “DVD without menu” from the drop-down list.

8-Click “Create Disc”, then you will have 3 options to choose: #1- Burn To Disc (Inset a blank disc onto your drive) #2- Save As Disc Image File (ISO File) onto your hard drive #3- Create Folder Set (VOB File) onto your hard drive. Go to next step.

9-Click “Burn” … and go get for yourself a cup of coffee!
