Hi

I know this is quite an old program, but when I burn a cd of pictures using Photo Album and view it on a computer or DVD player the pictures come up in a random order rather than the order I set them up in. How do I get them to come up in the order I want?

Thanks for your help

Photo Album actually includes a program on the CD that runs on your computer to display the pictures in the order you intend. However, if you put the disc into a DVD player, they'll play in some other order, possibly alphabetically, I'm not sure, because your DVD isn't a computer, and it's not running the photo album program, it's just dealing with the .JPG files as it has been set up to do by the manufacturer.

You should be able to verify if it's alphabetical by watching the first few pictures, then go on your PC and see if those are the first pictures alphabetically. If so, then you could force the DVD player to show them in the order you want by renaming the files. The easiest way would be to add a 2 or 3 number prefix to each picture. Make sure you use leading zeros otherwise it won't work as expected. You want the pictures files to look something like:

001. Me&MyWife.JPG

002. Me&thekids.jpg

003. MyWife&thekids.jpg

.

.

.

432. endofvacation.jpg

If you don't add the leading zeros, they'll be displayed something like this...

1. Me&MyWife.jpg

10. UsAtTheBeerFactory.jpg

11. StandingNextToTheBrewingVat.jpg

12. SniffingtheHops.jpg

100. BuyingA6Pack.jpg

101. LeavingTheBeerPlant.jpg

2. Me&thekids.jpg

20. SmellingTheWort.jpg

.

.

etc.

Of course, if you find that your DVD player isn't playing them in alphabetical order, we'll have to think of something else.

Hope that helps!

Hi

You're suggestion worked perfectly. I renamed them all and it works perfectly on the DVD player.

Thanks again for your help. You made my day.
