Installation And Operation

I have sorted through this forum to find a solution and ensure I would not be duplicating questions, apologies if I missed something.

 

In general, EMC10 has stopped operating. I run Windows Vista and at one time the whole EMC Suite operated fine.

Something changed and i began to get the install dialog each time I open Roxio.

I have let it run through, I have hit cancel the countless times necessary to get to the main menu and most importantly:

I have done a clean install by following those instructions I found here.

I repeat that intentionally because when I have asked for assistance in the past that is always the suggested action...I have done that.

 

Music functions seem to operate fine, although I do use Roxio for my music file needs so I have not tested all.

 

The main issue is video wave....

After toggling through an endless install dialog I get a message telling me "can not load skin" and roxio shuts down, sometime it shuts down my whole PC, sometimes it freezes my PC...but each time it frustrates and angers me.

 

Has anyone had a similar issue and can anyone suggest a solution...other than a clean install.

 

Failing that, can anyone suggest an alternate software product that will not be as frustrating to operate?

I am having the same error.

I am using EMC 10 on a fully patched WinXP Pro PC.

It was working pretty good, but I had a few Windows exception errors (in VideoWave and IE7). Since I had Nero Essentials and NTI installed, I figured it was best to get them off of the computer. After removing those two suites, I now get the "unable to load skin" error when starting VideoWave. I have re-installed on top of EMC, no help. I have un-installed, defragged, then re-installed, but no help. PLEASE HELP!!!

You need to follow the "Clean Install" process.
