Filter Settings?

Question

Help!! I've been at this for several hours although I feel like I'm making progress I think I'm finally stuck! I am able to hook my video camera up to the computer and transfer whats on the camera to the computer. (it comes up in window's media player) I'm really struggling with how to get it open to where I can do anything with it in Creator 10. I THINK I transfered the file to my hard drive and changed the file type from MOD to MPG (I just renamed it changing the ending?? was that correct?) But now I can't get it to open so I can work on it. The error message I get when trying to add video is.... there is no media files in this folder that match this filter setting." Please help, I'm very frustrated!

The app should still work. I think it just looks for .MOD files. I don't know how Panasonic handles widescreen recording. You may have to play around with the settings if you used that. It is a very simple app that only does one thing - transfer files and renames the extension for you.

still confused and more furstrated. I don't have a clue what I'm doing and don't know where to find step by step help. THe only way I can view the video on my computer is to go to the file where it was saved and double click on it. It automatically opens in Window's Media Player. If I try to change what it opens with creator 10 classic it just doesn't work.

What should my next step be as soon as I transfer the file from the video camera to the computer?
