Syrallas
Oh, Boy. lot of work done with 10. I can't go back to 8 now. Sorry, from your original post I thought it was a fairly recent switch over. I assume you have tried the clean install?
nomark
Sorry, from your original post I thought it was a fairly recent switch over. I assume you have tried the clean install? I installed EMC 10 on VISTA from HP factory installed. it was clean I guess. I had hard time to make work EMC 8 last time too. I guess I have to wait for a fix for VISTA 64 bit. gi7omy
EMC8 (and earlier) will NOT work in Vista - in fact they won't even work properly in XP if Internet Explorer 7 and/or Media Player 11 are installed If you tried to install 8 on Vista, that could be the problem Also, Vista 64 bit is causing a lot of problems on its own - not overlooking the fact that there really aren't any 64 bit apps around that can take advantage of the 64 bit OS (if anyone tells you that the 64 bit OS makes 32 bit apps work better, they're only fooling themselves)
arthurdob
I was having the same problem and I found this worked. Try this: Open Video Convert Click "Add Movie" Click once on any video clip you want to add. At the top of the pop-up window there is a tiny screen icon. It is the "Preview selected video" icon. Click on it and the video should start previewing in a new window. Stop it at any time after the preview has begun and close the window. Then click "OK" in the first pop-up window and the movie/clip should add itself to Video Convert. You can add as many more clips after that without having to preview each one. This has worked every time for me since I figured it out. I have no idea why it helps, but it does. I hope that helps.

It's not really a 64-bit application at all. Tech support didn't answer this problem too. Wait more longer this time. By the way, what product can add/copy from DVD chapter and re-create DVD as EMC 10 does ? thanks.

I was having the same problem with Vista 32 Home Premium. I wouldn't call this a fix, but a work-around. Thanks Newbee!
