File Restore From Backup Mypc

Grumdeb

Question

Hi,

Using the Easy Archive option in Roxio RecordNow Premier 8 I have backed up my music collection from an external hard drive. The external drive expired today and I would like to restore. Luckily the backup is fairly recent, which is as well considering there are nearly 2,500 cd's on it...

How do I restore? I have CDRoller, but that only appears to restore each disk as a seperate entity and not part of an overall restore. There are 60 disks to be restored !

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

G

If it's Backup MyPC then you use the Restore Wizard in it to Restore. If the backup spans disc then you'll probably have to use whatever created it to restore it.

I don't have Record Now but I do have BUMP and you need to use it to restore backups made with it.

I recently purchased a new computer running Windows Vista Home Premium and I backed up all my music files off my XP computer, to transfer them to the new Vista. I had over the past 4 years recorded over 700 vinyl LP albums and converted them to digital. To answer your question, I backed these up to DVD'S using Record now 8 premier. When I got ready to restore them in the new computer, I just inserted the disk in my drive, went to my computer, opened the drive by double clicking it, and then saved all the files to the new computer. As far as I can tell, I didn't lose a single file in the process. Hope this helps you.
