Creator 10 Is Maxing Out My Cpu?

I had creator 7 on my computer and decided to upgrade. I uninstalled ver 7 and installed 10. the install went fine. my system at idle runs the CPU at about 2% - 6%. when I start creator 10 it jumps to 27% - 90% and the system runs like a 486 machine???? it stays this way until I shut it down. I have a 2.8gig hyperthreading CPU running win XP2. both CPU's runs like crazy just starting the program. when I highlight something, it takes 5 - 10 seconds for it to become active. I think something is wrong! everything I've tried works, it's just slow motion in action.

anyone else have this problem? any ideas?

run msconfig and disable roxwatchtray from start up

It's scanning your machine for media files and will keep doing that until they're all catalogued but if you disable it, it should go away
