File Cannot Be Edited

boots

Question

I am capturing my video from a sony dcr dvd 108, when I try to use videowave and select a video file (MPEG2) I get a message that the file could not be edited therefore cannot be added to production. what am I doing wrong. I had not finalized my disc, is this required to capture and edit a file? I am using dvd + rw, if I finalize can I still reformat the disc and reuse it?

Also when I capture a video I am unable to save it to the video folder (it defaults to pictures) the message states the file must be registgered as a "viewed file" how do I do this?

thanks

In addition to what Jim said, after you finalize the disc, put it in your computer DVD burner, and copy the files/folders to a new folder on your hard drive. Then open VideoWave, and bring in the .vob files, from the Video_TS folder, in the new folder in which you stored the files.
