Roxio 10 "no Drive Detected"

I have roxio EMC 10 (platinum i think) and i am having the "no drive detected" problem.

I ran the pxengine update and it didnt help. windows can see the drive just fine and it works in roxio cineplayer or whatever the viewer is but when i try to burn something i still get the no drive detected message.

 

what else do i need to try? it seems like the pxengine fix solves everyone's problems like this one so i am at a loss otherwise i wouldnt have started a new thread about this.

Could you please list the drive you have and what firmware version it's running? Also, what other burning software do you have installed?

there shouldn't be any other burning software installed aside from windows xp's stock stuff naturally.

 

its a sony dvd rw dw-q120A

 

when i ran the fix i ran it while logged in as a power user using the run as > administrator account. would this cause a problem?

 

 

 

 

oh and the firmware version is not listed in the drive details tab. (device manager)

the build number i got from the help > about in creator platinum

 

edit: just checked and the comptuter doesnt have IE7 but it DOES have WMP11 does that cause these types of issues?

That is not a build # for Creator Classic, again where did you come up with it?

I'm a bit confused. I don't think that Roxio has had a Platinum version since version 5, which was an Adaptec version.

 

If yours really does say Platinum on it, where did you get the software?

Roxio EMC 10 Suite, not Platinum! Your finding the PXengine info on the Home page of Roxio EMC 10 Suite, please be more specific. I show the same version there as you and Bruce. If you check the system 32, drivers folder, Pxengine, right click properties, version, file version, I show '3.00.67a' what do you show?

You need to get your help from whoever sold you your corporate license. This isn't the place, because the folks here don't have your software. Sorry.

The WMP version is irrelevant to any of this.

 

If your Burner can burn, burn a CD and a DVD (Vista only) then the drive is correctly recognized.

 

In that case print out and follow the Clean Install procedures, to the letter – Here

 

Let us know what that does???
