Can't Install Easy Media Creator 8

mrkbrn

Question

Can't seem to get any help on this from Roxio.

The guy I called on the phone was extremely rude.

I've seen others with similar install issues. But no solutions that work.

When I try to install retail Creator 8, at the beginning it asks for the cd-key. Which it accepts and continues installation. At the end of the install it asks for a product key for Cineplayer.

I wasn't provided one for this.

I exit the dialog for a Ceneplayer Product key and reboot.

Now when I try to run the software. It says I have an invalid install and need to re-install.

I've tried re-installing repeatedly, tried cleaning out my registry of any Roxio references I could find and using the utility that cleans out old versions of Roxio stuff.

I wound up buying a copy of Nero just to get operational again. But since I paid for this software also, I'd like to see what it does.

Ok hi mrkbrn,

Can you try somthing for me, can you make sure that you are logged in as Full administrator when you do the install? , as child or standard accounts can cause issues with application parts registring them selves.

As per this link.. http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?...6&hl=CinePlayer

2. if you want to remove ALL Roxio EMC7 or 8 apps , then download Roxio Zap (Click here)

and you may need to run it a few times then reboot.

3. now also run a registry cleaner (found here) make sure it dosnt delete any of your other programe keys.

and then reboot.

4. again make sure the account you are using is the main admin account and then try the install again.

5. make sure the service packs and directX are up to date,

6. make sure the time is set corectly.

7. Turn off all antivirus apps that maybe or are running

8. you say you have Nero, well make sure there are no packet writing software running on the system before install.

let us know how it go's, alo can you post a bit of info on your computer system like you see on my post as this helps us try to work out the issues better.
