mtrapp0
I have figured how to extract my scenes from a VRO so I can load them into EMC. There is a nice free tool called stream clip that can read the VRO and does some simple cuts and trims so you can get the scense you want in separate mpeg files. I can load the mpeg files into video wave and use MyDVD express to burn. I can see that there is no re-encoding happening. However, as soom as I edit, such as split the scene, delete part of the scense and add transitions, the tool re-encodes some of the video not all. But its clearly encoding more than just the transisitons. Why would this be? Is there something I can do so only the part of the video with the transitions is re-encoded? ANY part of the video that has been edited must be re-encoded even if you do a simple split with no transition.
mtrapp0
I was hoping that wasnt true. However, only parts were re-encoded not the whole thing. Do you know why that would be?
ggrussell
No clue without knowing more about the clips or what you edited.
mtrapp0
The 1 clip is a 16:9 mpegs, 704x480 8000Mbits/sec I set the project setting to 16:9 704x480 8000Mbit/sec. I split the clip in several places, deleted some of the video between the splt clips. then split at the end and delted the end portion. I added transistions between the clips I wanted to keep. It was the last clip which was not re-encoded. All the other clips seemed to get re-encoded,

I have figured how to extract my scenes from a VRO so I can load them into EMC.
There is a nice free tool called stream clip that can read the VRO and does some simple
cuts and trims so you can get the scense you want in separate mpeg files.
I can load the mpeg files into video wave and use MyDVD express to burn.
I can see that there is no re-encoding happening.
However, as soom as I edit, such as split the scene, delete part of the scense and add transitions,
the tool re-encodes some of the video not all. But its clearly encoding more than just the transisitons.
Why would this be?
Is there something I can do so only the part of the video with the transitions is re-encoded?
