Music Disc Creator

Question

Hi guys.

This will probably seem like a stupid question (and it probably is!), but I can't figure this out and it's driving me mad.

I have a project on MDC which is basically about 300 music tracks burned onto a DVD which I want to play in my DVD player. So far, so good.

The problem is that what I would like to do (and seems to be possible) is to have different JPEGs display for each track (or for a certain batch of tracks). The included styles I found a little limiting, so wanted to see what would happen if I used my own JPGs as styles. It worked fine. I saved each picture as a Style, named it, and was able to select it.

Trouble is, that when I play the disc back EVERY track has the same JPG showing (basically the same one used for the front menu). Any idea how I make it show a different pic each time the track changes?

Generally, what I've done (right or wrong) is this:-

1. Select in the right-hand panel labelled "DVD Music Disc" a track on the disc

2. Right click and select STYLE

3. Select SELECTED TRACK SCREEN(S)

4. Click the JPEG I want from my list

5. Click OK

It looks fine on screen, but it all goes wrong when I play the disc.

Am I doing anything monumentally stupid od fundementally wrong here?

Any help greatly appreciated. If there's anywhere I can post or send my project file, and someone would be kind enough to look at it for me, do please let me know.

Thx!

Trollheart

I'm not sure why it won't use your custom styles.

I did try it using just the styles provided, using a different style for each track and when I played the disc I got the style I put for each different track.I did just as you outlined.Picked a track on the right, right clicked, picked style and then chose one.Worked like a champ.

Try this and see if it works.Once you select your style right click again, hit Smart Objects, check Image and hit the browse button. Now choose your image. You'll need to do it for each track.Kinda double work but I think it'll do the job.Worked for me.

Seems I remember a post somewhere about this same thing but I can't find it right now.

Thanx for taking the time to reply.

Unf I know it works with the included styles, it's the ones I made myself, ie the custom ones, that don't seem to work. hat I'm doing is rather than do a separate style each track, I'm taking them in ten track batches and applying a new style to each, and that's what doesn't seem to be working.

However I'll try your suggestion and see how I get on.

Thx again

You're welcome.Seems like kind of the long way around but if it works that's what matters.Glad it works for you.

To tell the truth in the limited time I had to check the way you were doing it I couldn't get the styles to let me edit them except for Text Properties and that only changed the image behind the text box.So I tried it the way I explained and it worked.Go figure.
