Dvd Skips Over Pictures

I created 8 separate slide shows of a vacation I took last year (all jpegs). All the slide shows work perfectly in Photosuite. I then went into MyDVD and added the 8 slide shows. They all appear on the Main Menu and work perfectly in the Preview mode. After I burn the shows to a DVD, when I click to start a slide show, some of the shows do not begin at the first picture, but rather 3 or 4 pictures into the show. If I pause and back the slide show to the beginning, the first couple of pictures are there, they are just getting skipped over. If I take the exact slide show and burn it to a DVD by itself, it plays correctly. Am I overlooking something?

In MyDVD, try setting Tools – Options – Render, to Software.

 

If you have some DVD RW media, that would be good for testing.

I solved the problem. Thanks for the suggestions, but the problem was realted to transitions. If you create a slide show in the Roxio Slideshow Assistant, all of the transitions will work if you burn the DVD directly from the Slideshow Assistant. The project files are saved as .dmss file.

 

If you use these .dmss slideshows in Roxio MyDVD 10, the only transition that will burn and play correctly on the DVD is when Apply Pan & Zoom to All is selected. If you want another transition, like dissolve, then at the end of the Slideshow Assistant choose Edit in Videowave. Then, in Videowave, pick the transition theme you want. Videowave save the show as a .dmsm file.

 

When in MyDVD, add in the .dmsm files. They will burn and play correctly.

Rendering in Software did not work. The same issue exists. I find this extremely fustrating. I bought Roxio 10 specifically for this application. What a waste of money!

1: what are your system specs (similar to what is shown in my sig)?

 

2: What brand discs are you using?

 

3: What specific part of the suite are you using to do the rendering and what steps are you following doing it?
