Error Code #5 In Windows Vista

hey, I need help solving this problem, when I boot up vista, this message box shows up saying error code 5.. and im not sure if it is directed.. but i cannot update my computer either.. the update manager gives me loads of errors... not making it possible for my software to be updated.. thanks in advance for help.

Did you try what was suggested in the other thread you posted in?

Type CMD on the instant search bar

 

Right-click then run as admin

cd\ <enter>

cd Program Files\Common Files\Installshield\UpdateService\

dir

type ISUSPM <enter>

reboot

 

Also, a quick google on the error yielded this info which might be helpful.

the thing is I downloaded Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 2 and it still doesnt solve the problem.. cud it be because I dont have Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 Service Pack 1?

Did you update XP to Vista or was this a fresh install? Or, was this on a new system you bought? If the latter, you need to contact the manufacturer about this problem. If you upgraded from XP to Vista, then that's likely your problem. XP to Vista upgrades are usually not the best approach. A clean install is best.
