Add Items To Cd

Recommended Posts

Am trying to add items (files) to CD but I do not want them in alpha order. Any way to do this? Thanks

Please explain more. Why? Windows Explorer will list the files any way you want to view what is on the disc name. date, size or type. Creator Classic will burn them according to date.

Are the files mp3 ? The yes, you can keep the order. It will automatically keep the order that you add the files.

Depending on what KIND of files - numeric will override alpha -

01file.ext

02file.ext

03file.ext

25file.ext

etc.

If over 99 items, use 3 digits.

sorryI did not explain myself very well. I have files created in word and jpg files. I have combined these files in a book form. I want to put all these files on a CD so other people can print in the order I have placed the files in the book. since the files all have their unique names, like Susy pictures, lories pictures, etc. If I want susy pictures listed first and lories second, it wont do that because they are transferred to the CD in ALPHA form - so Lories would be first and Susy second.

the only way I think of is to rename all the files in sequence. Is this the only way. No they are not MP 3 files. They are all in word and JPG

Thanks much for your response. Much appreciated.

That's the way Microsoft sorts them.

How have you combined these files into book form? I'm unclear whether your "book" has the jpgs integrated, or if they are actually separate files.

Word has a Master Document feature that lets you insert separate files into a "master document" in whatever order you want. (You still retain the separate originals) Then you should only have the one file to burn. It would be faster I think than renaming each file. If the jpg's are external to the "book" then this wouldn't work for you, unless you incorporate the jpgs into the text.
