Unable To Capture Video

h982500

Question

When I click capture, the only video device I see is Emuzed Maui III-G Device. When I click there, I can see no video on the preview window. How can I capture video so I can record an analog TV signal to a DVD that is watchable on a stand-alone (non-computer) DVD player?

I am connecting the analog output (both component and co-axial, and one at a time) from my Hughes TiVo box to my Gateway 510 XP Media Center computer. When I use Media Center, I can see the in-coming video signal.

Thanks, I had no idea.

I know I had difficulty capturing. I have the ATI 9600XT AIW Video Card and for what ever reason, I couldn't capture from Hi-8 CamCorder using S-Video connections. I had to use Composite. I also couldn't do anything with the video captured using Studio8 or Pinnacle (?) on Roxio. I had to capture with Roxio. I can't quite remember because it has been a few months since I have played with it.

You're probably not going to be able to capture the video with EMC7. Most capture devices come with software that will capture the video at the best quality.

Once you've imported the video, you should be able to edit and burn with EMC7.

I think I have heard of software programs that will convert analog to digital, but most of the time there is a hardware interface such as an in-line converter or even some video cards like the ATI All-in-Wonders.

I have had my EMC7 for about a year and I still haven't figured out how to work the programs. Right now, I am having humongous problems with Disc Copier and Run-time errors.

The "Emuzed Maui III-G Device" is a capture card which appears to be able to capture a TV signal.
