A Cure For Wizard Interrupt In Win Xp!

WaferboymC

Question

I had trouble installing WMC 10 on my Windows XP system. Reading through the forums this seems like a common issue. I never tried the "Clean Install" as my system hard drive was formatted in the last 36hrs and I was on my way to rebuilding things. I figured my computer was as clean as I was going to get it. Anyway, I tried the unistall Direct X 9 as mentioned on this board, I turned off McAffee...all to no avail.

In the end, as suggested by another person on this board, I logged out and logged into my kids Login and tried installing from there. It worked?! I have EMC10 installed now. :)

So log out, and try creating/logging in under another account and maybe it will work. I hope it's that easy for all of you.

Good Luck!

FYI:

Intel Core 2 (6700)

Windows XP Pro (Version 2002) with Service Pack 3

The clean install method is somewhat of a pain but usually fixes corrupted installs. As far as the suggestion to install while logging in to another user, (or creating a new user), I believe ml gets props for that one. ;)
