Making A Flash-like Interaction

John Zoop

Question

Hi,

I was wondering how one would go about making a flash-like type of image/video that could be posted on a website. Is this even possible with the available formats? I was thinking something with buttons that the user could click and then different videos/animations show up. It doesn't necessarily have to be in flash format (.swf or .flv), but is there something similar like doing it in quicktime or something?

You usually can upload wmv files to web sites. They are a reasonable cross between size and quality depending on the size. You can make wmv files of several sizes using EMC 9. Flash video are better but EMC doesn't have the ability for the conversion. There are free and pay for programs that you can get -- Google for them.

As for the choices, you can just put the option buttons on the main web page.

Do you have a web site now or will you be looking for a provider? The reason I ask is that Camtasia Studio is an excellent program for editing and converting EMC produced files to Flash. It is not inexpensive though.

karri has an excellent web site where she posts helpful EMC videos. I have a web site also but it is really spartan compared to her excellent design.
