Cdsd 5 Crackling When Capturing From Internet

Sailor133

Question

Recently I installed CD Spin Doctor Capture Support. I listened to an Internet site for about 1/2 hour and got excellent audio. Then I launched CDSD and tried to capture some audio from the site. There is intermittent crackling that comes through the speakers and is on the recorded file. Thinking it just might be a problem with weather or the internet connection I trashed the files and decided I would try again at another time.

This morning I tried again to capture audio from the same site. After listening to the site for over 1 hour with clear audio I launched CDSD. As soon as I even monitored the sound through CDSD I get the intermittent crackling sounds again. I did not even attempt to record the sounds this time. Right now I am again listening to the site and am getting no crackling sounds so long as CDSD is not launched and interacting with my sound.

Does anybody have any help or suggestions for me to try?

CDSD 5.0.1.617t

iMac G5 2 GHz

OS 10.4.7

I have exactly the same problem, renders the recording useless. Its very disappointing since that feature is what sold me on the upgrade. Refunds please? Looks like the audio input is red lining at the crackle points but I cant find a way to adjust the record volume. I just tried a trial version of Wire Tap Studio and it works very well, maybe thats the best option. Check it out.

Presuming the Input and Output settings in the Sound panel of System Preferences are both set to the Spin Doctor capture setting, you can control the input signal strength in Spin Doctor by adjusting the slider next to "Play input through Speakers".
