Where Do I Find Information For Creator Basic V9 Issues?

I have looked over your topics briefly and was not able to find any information regarding an OEM version. There was no category for this so I am wondering why it is so hard to get my Roxio Creator Basic 9 back working. I reinstalled my Operating System from an upgrade of Vista Ultimate back to the Vista Home Premium so that I could reinstall the software. Could you also please put this in the correct topic place. Thank you.

This isn't Roxio tech support. This is a users forum, and you aren't going to find a lot of information on how to use a stripped down version of the software, because most who frequent the forums, have the full version(s) of the software.

It's perfectly possible that your oEM package was modified by the supplier to work with their system andm, if that was XP, it may not work with Vista

That aside, if you 'upgraded' XP to Vista instead of a clean install after a reformat, then you imported a lot of problems. It's always best to totally wipe the old system first before installing a new OS

Was it included in a new computer or with a new optical drive.

OEM version [Original Equipment Mfgr], and you need to contact the supplier, who supply ALL support for their program when they bought the rights to use it. Usually OEM versions have less functions compared to the Full retail version

For those users who have come here after getting one of the plethora of OEM versions or the 'diced and sliced' subsets of programs Sonic has been releasing recently, your best idea is to go and start reading the forums closest to the version number of the major program you have.

i,e, if you have Creator Basic V9, start in the Easy Media Creator 9 forums and work from there.

When these forums were first set up with Invision hosting them, the software divisions were a lot clearer. The divisions have become a lot more blurred now, so newbies are having to take a guess very often.

If you're in doubt, name your software and ask in the General forum where you should be looking. Someone will help point you in the right direction.

Regards,

Brendon

Drives are so cheap these days, I still think it's better to start with a new drive and keep the old one in case you need something on it :)
